Salisbury Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Corn
📝 Ingredients
For the Salisbury Steaks:
1 lb ground beef
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
2 lbs potatoes, peeled & cubed
4 cloves garlic, peeled
4 tbsp butter 🧈
½ cup milk (or heavy cream for extra creaminess)
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Corn:
2 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned) 🌽
1 tbsp butter
Salt& pepper to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Salisbury Steaks
In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper.
Form into 4 oval patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
2️⃣ Make the Gravy
In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour. Cook 1 minute until golden.
Slowly whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire, onion powder, and garlic powder. Simmer until thickened.
Return patties to the skillet and simmer in gravy for 10–12 minutes.
3️⃣ Prepare the Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Boil potatoes and garlic in salted water until tender (15–20 minutes).
Drain, then mash with butter and milk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
4️⃣ Cook the Corn
Heat butter in a small pan, add corn, season with salt & pepper, and sauté until heated through.
5️⃣ Plate the Meal
Serve Salisbury steaks smothered in rich brown gravy.
Add a scoop of garlic mashed potatoes and a side of buttery corn.
